Contracts

Veteran centre-back Scott Dann has extended his contract with Reading until the end of next season.

Transfers

Austrian defender Kaspars Dubra has left Ukrainian club FK Oleksandriya to join Austrian side RFS on a free transfer.

Swedish winger Viktor Claesson has been released by Russian Premier Liga club Krasnodar.

After months of telling everyone that they had no need to buy a striker, and passing up a number of chances to get one, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that City "definitely" need to sign a striker.

Alex Palmer has signed for Luton Town on an emergency loan deal from West Bromwich Albion. The 25 year old goalkeeper was required by Luton after they lost fellow loanee Jed Steer to injury and their other keeper James Shea is also unavailable.

Injury Round-Up

Jordan Williams' season has ended prematurely after the Barnsley youngster picked up a knee injury which requires surgery.

Another player who will miss the rest of the season is Port Vale captain Tom Conlon who has undergone surgery to cure an Achilles' injury.

Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

A Liga MX match in Mexico was abandoned after 63 minutes when crowd violence broke out and fighting spilled out on to the pitch itself. Some of the players tried to calm the situation but were sent to the changing rooms for safety. According to police nine people had to be hospitalised, including two who were seriously injured, among a number of injuries with Queretaro losing 1-0 at home to Atlas. Liga MX have suspended their Sunday programme "in solidarity with the people affected".

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Rangers after supporters went on to the pitch following their 2-2 draw at home to Borussia Dortmund which saw the Scottish champions progress to the Europa League last-16.

Ukraine Invasion

Chelsea fans have been criticised by the club's manager Thomas Tuchel as they ruined the minute's applause in support of Ukraine before their Premier League match against Burnley. While the rest of the league's fans showed support, Chelsea fans sang the name of their Russian owner Roman Abramovich during the applause and then continued to chant his name throughout the game to boos from Burnley fans. Tuchel said after the game in reference to the chants: "It's not the moment to do this. If we show solidarity we show solidarity and we should do it together. We take the knee together. If an important person from our club or another club unfortunately dies we have a minute of respect. It is not the moment to give other messages. It's the moment to show respect. We want to do this. As a club we need our fans to commit to this minute of applause. We do it for Ukraine and there is no second opinion about this situation. They have our thoughts and our support and we should stand together."

Rangnick Committed To Rashford

Despite England forward Marcus Rashford's form having fallen apart this season, Manchester United's interim manager Ralf Rangnick has said he is going to stick by him. Rangnick said: "Marcus has abundant talent, pace and physicality. He has everything you need for a modern striker. I insist we will continue to be behind Marcus and with him to develop him. I will put all my energy in to help him to take the same pathway other players have done over the last three months."
