Transfers

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Watford to sign their forward Ismaila Sarr, but the deal fell through.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that his team are "close" to completing a deal for Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan.

David Bremang has signed for Crawley Town after they paid an undisclosed fee to Barnsley. Creepy have also brought in goalkeeper David Robson on loan from Hull City.

New York City FC have signed Matias Pellegrini off waivers (no I don't know what that means either!) after the midfielder was released by Inter Miami.

Qatari Stars League side Al-Gharafa have signed Ishak Belfodil on a free transfer from Hertha Berlin.

Former Everton winger Bernard has joined Panathinaikos on a free transfer from Sharjah.

Paris Saint-Germain have sent Eric-Junior Dina Ebimbe to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with an option to buy.

Napoli have paid a £4.5m loan fee to take Giacomo Raspadori on loan from Sassuolo.

Sambou Soumano hasa moved to KAS Eupen on loan from Lorient.

A fee of £3.6m has been paid by Hellas Verona to sign Juan Cabal from Atletico Nacional.

Major League Soccer side Nashville SC have loaned Handwalla Bwana to USLC team Memphis 901.

Arsenal youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy has joined Rotherham United on a season-long loan deal.

Sheffield Wednesday have paid an undisclosed fee to sign Hull City's former Leeds United forward Mallik Wilks.

VfL Wolfsburg have sent Marin Pongracic to Lecce on loan.

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Joao Carvalho has joined Estoril Praia from Olympiacos.

Club Brugge have paid £1.8m for former Celtic and Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata.

Shanghai Port have signed former Everton youngster Tyias Browning on a free transfer from Guangzhou.

Another former Everton player on the move is Sandro Ramirez as Las Palmas have paid a £450,000 loan fee to take him on loan from Huesca.

Aston Villa have sent Bertrand Traore to Basaksehir on loan.

Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz has joined Middlesbrough on loan from Fulham.

Watford have 'sold' Hassane Kamara to sister club Udinese and then he has been loaned back to the Hornets. Obviously a way of getting some money into a transfer kitty at Watford and get around financial rules.

Juventus have recalled Gianluca Frabotta from his loan spell at Lecce after just 8 weeks. The left-back has struggled to hold down a first-team place.

Injury Round Up

AS Roma's on-loan Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Giorginio Wijnaldum is a doubt for the World Cup in Qatar after the Netherlands international broke his leg in training. The 31-year-old has suffered "a fracture to the tibia in his right leg".

Dan Burn has been ruled out of the midweek Carabao Cup tie with Tranmere Rovers as the Newcastle United defender suffered concussion in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

MK Dons goalkeeping coach Lewis Price will be taking a break from his role while he is away to have treatment on testicular cancer.

Nicolo Zaniolo has suffered a dislocated left shoulder and will be out of the AS Roma team for a month.

Job Changes

Liverpool have set up a new supporters board with a "legally-binding commitment to strategic-level supporter engagement". The board will consist of 16 supporter representatives who will work with the club to increase fan engagement in areas such as the matchday experience and ticketing arrangements. It will be chaired by Spirit of Shankly's chair Joe Blott, who was elected to chair the new board. Liverpool's Managing Director Andy Hughes said: "We are proud of the work that has gone in to make this happen and we thank Spirit of Shankly and Joe Blott for their support in working with us to reach today's milestone. It's important to us that we have engagement with our fans and that they can input into important strategic matters. Having the Supporters Board means we put a process in place that is more formal but in a meaningful way." The board stemmed from the backlash following Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group's backing of the European Super League.

Disciplinary Charges

Walsall are working with police after a number of their players' families were racially abused at Gillingham. Walsall stated: "Abuse of any nature will not be tolerated. The club have been made aware of an extremely unsavoury incident in the away end at Gillingham this afternoon whereby a number of our players' families were racially abused. Abuse of any nature will not be tolerated."

Atletico Madrid are likely to face problems after their defeat to Villareal ended in chaos. A last-gasp goal from Villareal's Gerard Moreno was followed by his customary goal celebration, which was greeted by bottles and other missiles raining down from the Atleti fans towards Moreno. Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak had to pull Moreno out of there as a scuffle broke out. Minutes later, with the game over the substitutes were doing their warm-down routine when a group of 30 or 40 Atleti fans began to shout abuse at their own team's players, in particular Antoine Griezmann and Mario Hermoso. Hermoso, who came through Real Madrid's academy and represented both their C and B teams before moving on, was called "Madridista hijo de puta" (Madridista son of a bitch), which led to the defender confronting the fans and attempting to get to his abusers. Hermoso was clearly intent on dealing with it there and then and had to be held back by stadium staff, teammates and police. Renan Lodi is said to have given the middle finger to the fans during the melee.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been charged by the Football Association for comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor following the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur. Tuchel is accused by the FA of questioning "the integrity of the match referee". Personally I thought his comments questioned the ability of the utterly inept Taylor, though the fact they are immediately assuming it is his integrity in question suggests they feel his integrity is in question.

The red card shown to Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has been appealed. The Everton academy graduate was given a straight red after fouling Hibernian winger Martin Boyle to stop a counter attack.

Lincoln City's veteran forward Chris Maguire has been suspended by the club after he was charge with breaching betting rules by the Football Association.

Rangers have begun legal action in the USA after a businesswoman attempted to sell the club and entice investors to the bid without authority to do so. A Rangers statement explained: "RIFC (Rangers International Football Club) has raised injunction proceedings in the US to prevent a US entity and its principal falsely claiming it has been authorised by Rangers to sell shares in RIFC and using Rangers IP for that purpose."

LOSC Lille have dropped striker Mohamed Bayo from the first-team squad and fined him 75,000 euros after he was seen clubbing the night before Lille got a 7-1 hiding to Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend. The 24-year-old was pictured on social media in a nightclub and is now training with the club's second team, who play in France's 5th tier. Club president Olivier Letang said: "It is a lack of respect for the club, a lack of respect for the coaching staff and also our supporters. We were, along with the coach, very annoyed, even furiours, about this behaviour that for us is not tolerable." Lille only bought the Guinea international in July from Clermont Foot but they were forewarned as he has a 2-month suspended sentence from a Clermont court for "driving while intoxicated" and "involuntary injuries".
