Bristol City centre-back Nathan Baker has had to hang up his boots on medical advice following a double concussion. The defender has been unable to play since November last year after suffering a second concussion within a month. The 31-year-old began his career with Aston Villa and made over 100 appearances for the Villans.

Job Changes

Jim Bentley has been appointed as the new manager of League Two Rochdale. Bentley has been appointed to replace Robbie Stockdale, who was sacked earlier in the month after they lost their first four games of the season. He has been out of work since being sacked by National League North side AFC Fylde back in March.

In the Premier League Bournemouth have already decided enough is enough with Scott Parker, despite him winning the first game of the season. Since then they have lost all three Premier League games, including a 9-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool last time out. Bournemouth's owner, Maxim Denim, said: "In order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately." Gary O'Neil will take temporary charge of the team.

Como have unveiled Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as their new investor. The Serie B side already boasts his former teammate Cesc Fabregas as a shareholder and former Chelsea player Dennis Wise as CEO. Como have risen up from the fourth tier after bankruptcy under the ownership of Indonesian tobacco corporation Djarum.

Spalletti, who is from Florence and used to watch the Viola as a child, had been receiving abuse throughout the Serie A fixture between Fiorentina and Napoli. The fan attempted to slap Spalletti, just about missing, while another fan threw an empty bottle at his head.

Pointless List Of The Day

Milan To Be Hit By Drake Curse?

AC Milan may become the latest sports team to be hit by the 'Drake Curse'. The rapper has managed to show support for a number of teams that have ended up losing big games after he gave them support. Now AC Milan look likely to be cursed for the forseeable future as Drake and LeBron James, through their fund Main Street Advisors, are set to invest in the Milanese team alongside RedBird Capital Partners. James already owns a small stake of around 2% in Liverpool. Joining the consortium is Major League Baseball franchise New York Yankees, who already have a shareholding in MLS franchise New York City FC alongside Manchester City's owners, the City Football Group.

Bayern Helping Hand

Bayern Munich are to donate 50% of the gate receipts from their German FA Cup fixture with Viktoria Koln to the third tier side in order to help them through financial issues they have been facing due to the pandemic. With a likely 50,000 crowd, it is expected to be a huge help to the lower league side.
