Football News: Couldn't be Happier with Everton's Recent Transfer Window

I couldn't have been happier with the window we've just had. Everton's big problem last year was that defense and having players that consistently play and not on the injury table.
We now have two CBs who not only play every week without fail, but are also born leaders. We already look a different team to last year. 66 goals we conceded, that's a lot and is relegation stats. So this was the most important part to fix.
The next thing was to inject real pace into the middle of the team and Onana 100% gives us that. On top of that, Gordon is like a new signing. Last year he needed to show he can make it, but this year he needs to add threat and consistency. He's starting to show that; he is the Ricky replacement.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (DCL) is one of the best instinctive strikers in the League. Yes he's had a couple of heavy injuries, but if he is managed right, he will be our biggest asset up front. But he can only do so much. Gray is not a provider, but caused mayhem coming inside. Gordon again is very similar, so we needed someone who has a cross on him and we got two.
McNeil and Vinegre will supply the forwards with crosses to go at. I know people are judging McNeil already, but he's playing with one arm behind his back. He can pick out a cross, but until there's a forward on the pitch, he has no one to aim for. Vinegre is a pure wing back and more like a Digne or Baines, which we will need as Gray or Gordon don't provide that kind of threat.
Upfront, we now have a couple of alternatives, DCL, Gordon and Maupay will give us different propositions and during a game a much needed variety of options. I also think we may see something of Canon at times as well. He's young, but he's only a season or two from being in that first team squad.
Gana is Gana who needs no-one to explain what he will bring. It's a huge signing and at times you'll have him and Onana, Iwobi, Dacoure, Davies or Garner in a two or a three. It's now such a mobile and robust midfield. Garner really excites me. I thought he had a great second half with Nottingham Forest but at 21, he has a lot of room to grow. He's a risk taker and I like that. I know most players make simple passes 100% of the time, but I want players to make 30% difficult passes that create chances and goals.
Finally, the players already there; Holgate has improved hugely and Iwobi is off the scale. But you also have Patterson who has come in and is growing game by game and Gordon developing well. Pickford needs to stay calm and a sponsorship deal with Kalms. He can be stunning but then a complete liability at times. I like him, but we need reassurance in that defence.
Overall it's a great window; we are 100% better and the players bought are a mixture of youth and experience. Results will come, but everyone; Chairman, Board, Owner and most importantly Fans need to be patient and realistic, especially in the early couple of months with this squad.
Bring on Liverpool tomorrow and let's get behind this team now.
