Transfers

Wolverhampton Wanderers have launched an appeal after they failed to get a work permit for Diego Costa initially.

Former Leeds United and Celtic winger Robert Snodgrass has signed for Heart of Midlothian. The veteran was released by Luton Town at the end of the season.

Valon Berisha has left Stade Reims for a loan spell in the Australian A-League with Melbourne City.

CF Montreal's Nigerian forward Chinonso Offor has joined Zulte Waregem on loan.

Former Nottingham Forest winger Philip Zinckernagel has joined Standard Liege on loan from Olympiacos.

KVC Westerlo have signed former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nacer Chadli on loan fr4om Basaksehir.

Hatayspor have signed former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu on a free transfer from Al-Raed.

Bernd Leno, now of Fulham, probably should go back and watch tapes of himself in action for Arsenal as the German has claimed that he was dropped due to politics rather than his performances. Leno said: "When I realised that it wasn't about performance or quality, I knew that I had to go. In preparation, I saw that it is not about performance, but only about politics. It was clear to me: I had to get out of here."

Job Changes

Bologna have sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic five games into the new Serie A season with the club yet to manage a win. Bologna lost to AC Milan and Lazio and got 3 draws. Mihajlovic has been being treated for leukemia for the second time in his life, having been diagnosed with a recurrence in March. Bologna president Joey Saputo said: "It was the most difficult decision I have made since I have been president of Bologna. In recent years we have lived together with Sinisa beautiful and painful moments that have cemented a relationship that is not only professional, but above all human. Mihajlovic has faced the disease with courage and determination since the day he wanted to make his state of health public in a moving press conference. Since then, despite the hospital stays and the heavy effects of the treatments he has been subjected to, he has always remained close to the team, making every effort to be in contact with the players, in person or in connection, thanks also to the professionalism of his staff. The club and the whole city rallied around the coach in this difficult personal experience, despite this Mihajlovic has always rightly claimed to be evaluated only for his work. Now, unfortunately, the time has come for a change of technical leadership: a painful decision that we had to make for the good of the team and the club. But even if Sinisa Mihajlovic will no longer be the coach of Bologna, from today this club, and all the people who make it up, will always be by her side until his complete and total recovery and in the rest of his career."

Following a Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb Chelsea have sacked their manager Thomas Tuchel. A club statement explained: "As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition. On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea's history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here." Chelsea have already moved to replace him by securing permission from Brighton & Hove Albion to speak to the best possible candidate in the shape of Graham Potter.

Dino Maamria has claimed he is not the interim manager of Burton Albion to replace Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The Tunisian said: "We spoke about the caretaker thing and I said 'I'm not really'. Caretaker isn't really helping anybody, I want to know where I stand. I want to speak to the players about where I stand - this is not a short-term fix, it's a long-term fix. I am the full-time manager of Burton Albion Football Club."

Assistant coach Matt Wells, goalkeeper coach Rob Burch and analyst Jonathan Hill have all left Bournemouth in the wake of the sacking of head coach Scott Parker. Parker had previously worked with the trio at both Fulham and the Tottenham Hotspur Under-18s. First-team coach Gary O'Neil has taken over as interim head coach. He will be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick, who are development squad coaches.

Disciplinary Charges

Leeds United's head coach Jesse Marsch has been charged by the Football Association with "improper language and/or behaviour" following his sending off during the defeat to Brentford. Marsch was angered when Leeds were denied a penalty and was sent off for telling the referee to review the decision on the pitchside VAR monitor.

Liverpool coach John Achterberg and Newcastle United coach Daniel Hodges have been charged with improper behaviour after a clash between the two after Fabio Carvlho scored a 98th minute winner for Liverpool.

Another to be charged by the FA is Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe who has been charged with "abusive and/or insulting words" to the referee after Preston lost to Birmingham City. Lowe was sent off after the final whistle and admitted he had apologised to the referee for his words.

Ryan Giggs is to face a retrial over allegations that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

Just days after footage emerged of Juventus fans making anti-semitic chants during an away game at Fiorentina in Serie A, Juve fans have disgraced themselves again. A group of Juve's away fans at the Parc des Princes to watch Juve in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain were caught on video racially abusing a black PSG fan in the stands. The fans were seen making monkey gestures and Nazi salutes towards the PSG fan as their team lost.
