One person died and at least 5 were injured, including Mari, in an attack in a Carrefour in Assago. Mari was stabbed in the back but his injuries are not life-threatening, but he was a witness to shocking scenes as a man in front of him was stabbed in the throat.

Job Changes

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reopened talks with Julen Lopetegui in an attempt to convince the Spaniard to change his mind about becoming their new head coach. Disciplinary Charges

Stevenage manager Steve Evans has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following a red card as his team lost to Northampton Town. Evans was sent to the stands for comments he made to match officials and then claimed that refereeing was "hopeless" after the match.

Jurgen Klopp has been fined £30,000 for being sent off. The Liverpool boss was sent off during his team's 1-0 win over Manchester City after berating a refereeing assistant after a clear foul was not given on Mohamed Salah. Klopp admitted he deserved the red card and apologised immediately after the game.

Kanye West's latest anti-Semitic outburst has led to consequences he could not have imagined. Not only has he been dropped by the likes of adidas and Madame Tussaud's have removed his waxworks but now Bournemouth have decided to drop his song 'Power', which the players had walked out to at the start of each match. I am sure that will be the straw that broke the camel's back....

Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin has had his 6-game suspension reduced to two-games on appeal. Goodwin was banned after he accused Hibernian's Ryan Porteous of conning the referee: "You are always worried who is marking Ryan Porteous because you know what he is like, he's won so many free-kicks and penalties for his conning of the referee."

The manager of Charlton Athletic, Ben Garner, has been charged with improper conduct in the wake of his team's 4-4 draw with Ipswich Town. Garner was sent off in the 53rd minute of the match.

Plymouth Argyle have condemned "disgusting and tasteless" chants made by a number of their supporters about former Exeter City forward Adam Stansfield when the two teams faced each other on Monday. Stansfield died of cancer in 2010 aged just 31 and his son Jay is currently on loan at Exeter from Fulham. An Argyle statement read: "Individuals who think engaging in this behaviour is at all acceptable are entirely unwelcome at Home Park. Argyle strives to be respected, both on the field and off the field, and an inclusive club welcoming to all. The focus should have remained solely on what a brilliant advert for the region's professional football clubs Monday night's fixture was. Instead, we are left having to condemn the abhorrent behaviour of individuals we would rather did not identify with our club. Our sincere apologies are extended to Exeter City, and in particular, Jay Stansfield, whose on-field performance on Monday night should have been the only point of discussion."

Just when you think fans could not get any lower Peterborough United have been forced to apologise for the "disgusting" chants by some of their fans about a Cambridge United fan who died two years ago. Simon Dobbin was assaulted after Cambridge's game at Southend United in 2015 and left with permanent brain damage. He died on 21 October 2020 at the age of 48. The game on Saturday was the first league meeting of Cambridge and Peterborough for over 20 years. Posh's interim CEO Leighton Mitchell said: "The football club offer our sincere apologies to the family of Simon Dobbin. There is no place in society for what was chanted by a small section of so-called supporters and we will be working extremely hard to identify those involved." Peterborough fans also threw pyrotechnics, while Cambridge fans did "substantial damage" to toilets and offices in the away end and were involved in "disorder outside of the stadium" after the game.

Colchester United have condemned racist abuse directed at one of their players during the game at Barrow.

Spanish Super Cup In Saudi Arabia

The Spanish Football Federation have agreed to play the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia in January. Riyadh will host semi-finals between Real Madrid v Valencia and Real Betis and Barcelona, with a final to follow on 15th January. It is the third time the tournament has been hosted in Saudi Arabia, with a deal set to run until 2029.

Social Media Mistake

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has claimed that he was "pretty sure" how West Bromwich Albion would set up to play at the weekend because they "put a bit too much on their social media channels for us to see". The Blades won 2-0 against the Baggies under their new head coach Carlos Corberan, despite initially being unsure how they would set up. Heckingbottom said: "I know we spoke in midweek about not knowing what the set-up would be like, but West Brom maybe put a bit too much out on their social media channels for us to see. We were pretty sure what the set-up would be like." The Baggies had posted video footage of the Spaniard's first training session and a photograph of Corberan holding a sheet of paper with a tactical diagram on it. Heckingbottom revealed that a member of his staff is routinely assigned to check social media: "You have to look at it (social media) because there's so much stuff that gets put on there and a lot of it is more instructive than people sometimes realise. We put a lot of time into it. There might be something seemingly insignificant which goes out, something visual or something that's said, and it can tell you a lot if you know what you're looking for. There's someone here who does all of that, looking at stuff and finding things out through it, beforehand. If you want to win, if you enjoy what you do, then look at social media. There's so much information out there and a lot of it is rubbish but if you can find the relevant stuff then it can be really useful. The social media accounts, I won't tell you who it was exactly, but last season we found out through one that a really important player wouldn't be playing for their team against us. It wasn't through anything they put up. But their wife let slip they'd all gone away on holiday and so we knew he wouldn't be involved against us. We tend to do the opposite - we can do things that are misleading or cause a bit of confusion."
