Football News: They just want rid of me says Madine

Gary Madine has claimed that Sheffield Wednesday just want to get rid of him in the January transfer window.

The Owls striker is currently on loan at Coventry City, he believes that Wednesday will not be looking for a fee to offload him next month.

When asked if his parent club would want a fee for him in January the 24 year old said: "No, I don't think so. I think they'll just be happy to get me out - certainly that's the impression I get."

Since joining Coventry on loan in November, Madine has established himself as first choice to lead the line.

With his loan period expiring on January 4th, and his contract with the Yorkshire club running out in the summer, Madine is not expecting to be given a chance to stay with Wednesday.

Sky Blues manager Steven Pressley has made it clear he would love to sign Madine on a permanent deal, if possible.
