Football News: Newcastle to make fresh bid for emergency loan keeper

Newcastle United's injury problems were increased during last night's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

Their 3rd choice goalkeeper, Jak Alnwick, suffered an injury to his shoulder which will keep him out for a lengthy period.

The youngster picked up the problem in the 71st minute but played on, due to the Toon's only back up goalie being an untried 17 year old.

Now, with just the 17 year old Freddie Woodman available, Karl Darlow on loan to Nottingham Forest for the season, Newcastle are once again exploring the emergency loan option.

They are preparing to submit Alnwick to individual inspection by the FA to prove the injury is real and requires a replacement.
