Football News: Tottenham close on Chadli

Tottenham are close to securing the signing of Belgian winger Nacer Chadli from Dutch side FC Twente for a fee believed to be in the region of £6.5 million pounds.The Belgian winger signed for FC Twente from AGGOV Apeldoorn back in 2010 and caught the eye of many scout last season with some very good performances for Twente.

Chadli would become Tottenham's second signing this summer following Brazilian midfielder Paulinho to white heart lane.Chadli is a very versatile player being able to play in many positions such as Left wing,Right wing and from and attacking midfield role.

The winger will cost Tottenham in the region of £6.5 million that taking there summer spending upto around £24 million pounds on the two players they have signed. The Belgian enjoyed his most successful season in Holland last year scoring 10 goals in 22 games in the Eredivise last year which is what caught the eye of the Tottenham scouts.

The 22 year old will likely provide cover for high lying winger Gareth Bale who is continuously being linked with a move away from to Tottenham to Manchester United and Spanish team Real Madrid.Chadli will be playing for a place in Belgiam's world cup squad next year so he will want to be playing regularly at Spurs.
