Pardew to Crystal Palace? Irvine for the sack?

Plenty of rumours going around to today that the managerial merry-go-round is about to kick into action with a few decisions to be made by clubs and managers in the next few days.

With his refusal to speak to the media yesterday, Newcastle United manager has intensified speculation linking him with the Crystal Palace job, a position made available after Neil Warnock was axed from the Selhurst Park job. Pardew decided to send his right hand man John Carver to the post match press conference after the Magpies 3-2 win over Everton. When pressed why the manager was not at the press conference, Carver responded "Alan didn't say why I was doing the press, he just told me to do it."

Talks are understood to have taken place between Newcastle and Crystal Palace but no agreement has been reached in terms of a compensation package for Pardew who is under lengthy contract.

Meanwhile Alan Irvine is under pressure as the West Bromwich Albion boss suffered a 7th defeat in 9 games. The fans seemed to turn on the former Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End boss as their patience seems to have run out, however top West Brom players such as ex-England international Jolean Lescott have jumped to the defence of their boss hoping that he can be given more time to turn things around.

There is a fair amount of pressure starting to come down on some managers shoulders now with Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool), Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) and Nigel Pearson (Leicester City) all coming in for their fair share of stick from their respective clubs supporters.
