Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has been charged with Violent Conduct by the Premier League.

Sengal International Cisse, 28, has been charged for an alleged elbow on Everton full back Seamus Coleman during a 3-2 win for Alan Pardew's men which was missed by the officials.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez was upset that Cisse did not see red during the game and blasted the match officials and said that it was "unacceptable" behaviour from the striker who also scored in the match.

Referees are under the spotlight following criticism from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who feels that there is a campaign against his side, after Cesc Fabregas was booked for simulation during his sides 1-1 draw with Southampton, however video replays suggest that Fabregas was indeed fouled.
