Football News: Man Utd hit by double injury blow

Manchester United's injury problems have continued as, during their FA Cup 3rd round win over Yeovil Town, two more players returned to the treatment table.

Both fullbacks, Luke Shaw and Rafael, had to be withdrawn at half time through injuries, leaving the team without a specialist full back for the second half.

Shaw has an ankle injury, while Rafael has suffered a fracture.

Man Utd have suffered numerous injuries since the arrival of Louis van Gaal, with some fitness experts laying the blame at the door of the Dutch coach.

Van Gaal laid the blame for the injuries at the door of Yeovil's physical play, saying: "It was a very physical game," Van Gaal told the BBC.

"Rafael has an injury and a fracture of his bone so it was fantastic he had the guts to play through.

"I had to change him and also Luke Shaw because he had an ankle problem. He played on also. Rafael has already gone away in a car to the hospital.

"I don't know how he did it. I cannot say. I will have to watch the video. Also, the same with Shaw."
