Celtic manager Ronny Deila today confirmed the club won't be taking the Aleksandar Tonev racism situation any further.

The on loan Aston Villa winger this week lost an appeal against a recent seven-game ban for racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan.

Deila said earlier today "We have to take the penalty but we still believe it is not right, we believe Aleksandar Tonev."

"I don't think there is any possibility to go further so it will stop here. I'm very disappointed. He sent his statement out, we believe him and that's how it is. There's nothing we can do other than just go on."

Earlier this week there had been murmurings that the Scottish Premiership leaders would take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport should the appeal fail but now, according to Deila, that's not going to happen and Celtic and the player are accepting the punishment.

When questioned about the Bulgarian's future in Glasgow, Ronny Deila was adamant "Of course he has a future at Celtic."
