Football News: It is up to Didier

Jose Mourinho has been answering questions on Didier Drogba's future in the Chelsea press conference ahead of tomorrow's game with Newcastle United.

Drogba, who was impressive against Tottenham, while filling in for the injured Diego Costa, is now 36 years old and so the question of retirement is often circling around.

Mourinho told the assembled media that he would like to keep the Ivory Coast legend at the club next season too, if Didier wished to continue playing.

Jose stated "He is still a very good player and if he wants my advice he should stop when he wants, not when I or the club decides.

"He should stop when he wants, after that I know Mr Abramovich is very happy to keep him in the club.

"But that's after he decides to stop his career, that's not tomorrow though."

Though, regarding tomorrow, Jose did confirm that Drogba would not be starting as Diego Costa is back.
