Football News: Youngest manager in the Football League appointed

Mansfield Town have confirmed the appointment that everyone, well everyone that keeps up with the world of League Two football anyway, expected.

The 33 year old Adam Murray, who was in temporary charge, has been confirmed as their permanent manager, despite losing 3-0 to Luton Town on Saturday.

Murray told Mansfield's official website: "After much thought and consideration, I feel the time is right for me to take this step into management.

"I'm excited about this challenge and new adventure and I believe I have the knowledge, ability and contacts throughout the game to be successful.

"This is the proudest day of my career to date."

His first match in permanent, if anything in football can be called permanent, control of the Stags is a 2nd round FA Cup clash with Cambridge United tomorrow.
