Review of the Day

Contracts

Birmingham City have extended striker Lukas Jutkiewicz's contract until 2022.

Transfers

West Ham United have sent Jordan Hugill out on loan to Queens Park Rangers. Which just begs the question, why on earth did they sign him?

Spanish winger Aleix Vidal has been loaned to Alaves from Sevilla.

Udinese winger Darwin Machis has joined Granada.

Former Hull City striker Abel Hernandez has left CSKA Moscow to join Qatari Stars League team Al Ahli on a free transfer.

Former Arsenal youngster Marc Bola has signed for Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee from Blackpool.

Spanish midfielder Ivan Guzman has signed for Birmingham City on a free transfer from Catalan side UE Olot. They then loaned him out UE Cornella, their 'sister' club in the 3rd tier of Spanish football.

The Premier League's youngest ever player, Harvey Elliott has signed for Liverpool from Fulham. The 16 year old set the record in May, when he came on as a substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Injury Round-Up

Alexandre Lacazette has left the Emirates Stadium in a protective 'boot' after picking up an ankle knock during a friendly versus Lyon. Arsenal manager Unai Emery has quelled fears of a serious injury by reassuring fans that "it's not serious". Lacazette told reporters it was just a twisted ankle and that he expects to return to training tomorrow.

Klopp Rules Out Kent Loan Return

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a loan return to Rangers for winger Ryan Kent, who spent last season there on loan. Klopp said: "His time is over for loans. At the age he is now, he needs to find a place where he can settle. We will see what happens but a loan is not planned. He came back as a completely different player and it was a very important year for him. It helped being with a good manager, at a good club, with good competition, and it was exactly the right thing for him at the right moment."

Ancelotti Rules Out Tierney Move

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti denies the Italians are interested in signing Celtic left back Kieran Tierney. Ancelotti said: "I know him. He is a really good young player, a left-back at Celtic, but we look at a lot of players during the season. Honestly, I'm not interesting in signing him. We have two good left-backs, so good luck to Tierney."

Madrid Call Off Bale's China Move

Lampard Asks Fans To Drop Pikey Chant

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has asked fans of the club to quit chanting a song featuring his name which refers to his former club West Ham United as "the pikeys", a derogatory abusive name for gypsies. The chant was heard clearly during the friendly match against Reading and Lampard said: "If there's a song in the modern day or any day that has offensive words, I don't want to hear that. That's me saying that as a big Chelsea man who really appreciates the support I've had over the years. We don't want songs with offensive words. If the fans could sing other songs then I'll back that. We don't want to hear that. The club are very clear with the work we do off the pitch about anything that's offensive or prejudiced and we've made a big mark on that."
