Review of the Day

Contracts

1860 Munich goalkeeper Marco Hiller has signed a contract extension taking his time there up to 2022.

Wycombe Wanderers' manager Gareth Ainsworth, already the longest serving manager in the English Football League, has signed a new, long-term, deal with the club.

Transfers

Former Liverpool youngster Krisztian Nemeth has left Sporting Kansas City to sign for Dunajska Streda on a free transfer.

Free agent midfielder Jordon Mutch has signed for Norwegian side Aalesund.

Nottingham Forest have finally completed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Marc McGuane.

Injury Round-Up

Fulham's former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah has had surgery on a knee injury which will rule him out for at least 6 weeks.

Saed Kolasinac "suffered a significant right shoulder injury" on Sunday early in the victory against Everton.

Bayern Munich will have to make do without star striker Robert Lewandowski for a month after he fractured his tibia near his left knee during the Champions League win over Chelsea.

Managerial Changes

Oxford United have "politely declined" an approach from Blackpool to speak to their manager Karl Robinson.

Disciplinary Charges

Manchester City have registered their appeal against a 2 year European ban and 30m euro fine with the Court of Arbitration for Sport. CAS have not given any timeframe for the appeal.

Shrewsbury Town and Doncaster Rovers have both been charged with failing to control their players by the Football Association. The two teams were involved in a last-minute incident during their League One match on Saturday.

Bournemouth's goalkeeping coach Neil Moss has been charged with improper conduct. Referee Mike Dean sent him off and he was alleged to have used foul language after being sent to the stands.

Dele Alli has been charged over his coronavirus Snapchat video. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joked about the outbreak and mocked an Asian man and will now face charges for an aggravated breach of the FA's Rule E3. An FA statement said: "It is alleged that his post breaches FA Rule E3(1) as it was insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute. It is further alleged that the post constitutes an aggravated breach, which is defined in FA Rule E3(2), as it included a reference, whether express or implied, to race and/or colour and/or ethnic origin and/or nationality."

Grimsby Owner Steps Back

Grimsby Town's majority shareholder John Fenty is stepping back from day-to-day involvement in the club to allow new club shareholder and manager Ian Holloway more freedom to take the club forward. Fenty said: "He will have more freedom and autonomy to shape on-the-field matters than any other manager within the English Football League. Ian Holloway (Ollie) with his vast experience intends to drive the club forward both on and off the field, having special responsibilities as the director responsible for all football operations. The board has signed off on our largest playing budget for next season at this level, although it's fair to say there will be several bigger spenders in the division."

Cameroon Striker Pledges Help

Cameroonian striker Christian Bassogog has pledged £13,000 to help fellow Cameroonians who are living in areas hit by the coronavirus in China. Bassogog plays his football for Chinese Super League side Henan Jianye but is back in his home country while football is suspended in China due to the virus. The Cameroon embassy in China has said there are around 300 Cameroonians living in Hubei Province, including about 200 in the city of Wuhan itself. Bassogog said: "China has a special place in my heart and that's where I ply my trade. This money is aimed at helping Cameroonian nationals living in China especially the students. It's important that we come together in such periods and show such support and love to the needy. We want more Cameroonians across the world to reach out and support not just their country men but also China as a nation."
