Antonio Conte has warned Tottenham Hotspur that the club must pay "more attention" in the transfer market to avoid the "mistakes in the past". Conte said: "Usually you buy players to reinforce your team. But if you send on loan after two or three years it is strange. It means that maybe in the past you have to see what you did and maybe to understand that there were some mistakes in the past. We have to pay more attention in the future when we go into the market. It becomes a fundamental importance if we want to enforce the team, otherwise you drop the quality of your team." Spurs moved on 4 players in the January transfer window, but got unfortunately got stuck with Harry Winks and Eric Dier. The club's managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has said that the club were in for top players, including Luis Diaz, who ended up joining Liverpool instead, and Adama Traore, who chose a loan move to Barcelona and a pay cut over joining Spurs.

West Ham United forward Andriy Yarmolenko has been charged with misconduct over a betting commercial for a Ukrainian betting company.
Mel Morris, the former Derby County owner whose financial doping has left the Rams in admin, has told Wycombe Wanderers and Middlesbrough to pursue their compensation claims against him personally. Morris's time in charge of Derby saw them break numerous financial rules on a repeated basis and Boro and Wycombe are now pursuing compensation claims based on losing out on the play-offs, in Middlesbrough's case, and being relegated due to Derby's cheating. The pending court action has made it difficult to sell the club to interested parties and the EFL has told Derby it cannot resort to insolvency laws to settle their debts.
Egypt Request Delay
Egypt have asked for the final of the AFCON to be delayed by a day. The Egyptian coaching staff are worried that Senegal have had an extra day's rest, while they have been forced to go to extra-time in their last three games in the tournament.
