Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo are being investigated by UEFA. According to Dutch referee Danny Makkelie's report, the duo reportedly "blocked the door" of his dressing room to confront him following the 3-2 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Swansea City have been charged with failing to control their players following a red card to Ryan Manning in a 5-1 defeat to Fulham. The Swans' appeak against the red card has also been dismissed.

Ukraine Invasion

The Premier League have disqualified Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a director following the Russian oligarch's sanctions at the hands of the UK government. That would usually trigger shares to be immediately sold to someone who does qualify as a director, but Abramovich's assets are frozen with a block on him profiting from any sale. Chelsea's credit card facilities have also been temporarily suspended while banks assess the sanctions placed on the club. Chelsea have been given special licenses to operate and banks are unsure if they allow for credit cards to be used.

Ballon d'Or

The pointless popularity Ballon d'Or award is to be changed to judge performances over a season, rather than a calendar year. France Football magazine, which gives the award, have also decided to reduce the number of judges from 170 journalists to 100. The editor of the magazine Pascal Ferre said: "Before we were judging based on two half seasons. This will be clearer. It's an opportunity to give it a new impetus." The award has become a laughing stock in recent years as Lionel Messi continues to win it no matter how poorly he plays and how well others do.
