Best Wolverhampton Wanderers Transfer Window For Quite a While

Interesting reading everyones views on the transfer window and delighted to see that people are happy. Undeniably Wolverhampton Wanderers' best window for quite a while now - although let's be honest that is a very, very low bar. Trying to put a more analytical approach to it, I have looked at 3 things:

Depth, (including balance), first 11 and although you might think the first two cover this - our ability to win games! Depth oddly enough is barely changed with 5 (6 if Hwang is included) major signings and 5 (7 if Silva and MGW are included) departures. But balance is very different. We lost 4 (including Dendonker) of our top 5 CBs but only bought 1 leaving us v short - hopefully the free agent Denayer (sp) can be signed post deadline.

We lost a FB/WB in Marcal but probably have enough cover to get by due to Otto's versatility.
In midfirld, we signed 2 but only lost 1 (Dendonker) and bought a WF and CF (plus Hwang) without losing any (excluding Fabio and MGW) so perhaps over all the depth is slightly better?

The first 11 at CB is different and maybe better - certainly over the next 3 years it will be as Saiss and Boly are at the end of their careers and Collins is at the start.
Collins also allows us to move to 4 at the back from 5 - hence Coady is expendable.
The move now is fixed we have burnt the boats and can't return. However so far - albeit in only a few games and against the weakest teams in the league, it actually looks ok!
In midfirld, the first 11 is probably only augmented by Nunes but whilst he is yet to fully bed in it is promising. If he had scored the two headers and hit the underside of the bar ( and it had gone in ) not the top of it and thus had 3 goals we would be ecstatic.

However in the forward areas, I am less convinced. Guedes is an odd signing as WF is surely an area of strength and so far - again it is a small sample so perhaps not fair - he looks no better than Neto, Podence or my fav Traore.
My preference would have been not to sign him but to spend the money on either a second CF or an upgraded one.

This may be harsh, as before he has even kicked a ball it is unfair to judge him and his record does look ok and thus, I have nothing to base my doubts about him on but I question, is Sasa the major upgrade on the current Jimenez that we obviously need?
If he is and we bought him for only £15m then it is an incredible transfer - but that for me is a big if and a big risk.

Although the first 11 looks better I am not that certain that we will necessarily win more games as I am not certain we have added the goals lost by the injury to Jimenez. The transfers of Doherty and Jota and the hopefully shortter decline of Neto (injury) and Traore (reasons unclear).

I am also disappointed that we took so long to get our transfers over the line - we had 2 years notice that they were needed - and thus not only wrote off pre season but have seemingly thrown the first month of the season getting the new players up to speed - clearly aren't indeed since some haven't even played can't be! - which for Wolves is catastrophic! Consequently it most certainly is a far better window than the last 4 but is it too little and too late, we can only wait and see.

A win against Saints is surely now an essential and even that will leave us well behind par going into a horrible run of games that may see us enter the break cast adrift of the league which will be hard psychologically to pull back post Christmas.
Sorry to be my usual negative self - maybe a good win will cheer me up!
