Two cities in the USA have approved new MLS soccer-specific stadiums to be built.
Washington DC will finally get a replacement for DC United's old, crumbling RFK Stadium with the DC soccer stadium.
The stadium will be built in the Buzzard Point area of Washington and will have 20-25000 seats.
It is planned to open its gates in 2017 and is the culmination of ten years of efforts to get a new stadium in the city.
The second stadium will only be built if Las Vegas gets the go ahead for an MLS expansion team.
There are currently 3 teams in the running, Minneapolis and Sacramento being the other two, for the expansion slot.
Though it is not even certain yet that Vegas will win the slot, it is not even certain whether there is one or two slots up for grabs yet, if they do get it the city have agreed to put substantial funds towards the building of the new stadium.
Under the arrangement, Las Vegas would contribute $38 to $48 million for the Symphony Park land, $31.5 million in infrastructure, $25 million to help pay for the stadium and $20 million for a 1,200-space parking garage.
The developers would pay $250 million for retail, office and residential development around the stadium, $133.5 million for stadium construction and $100 million for the MLS expansion fee.
